About the author-Megan Hilborne was born and raised in the town of Southsea in the southern part of England. From an early age she was introduced to cinema through her Grandad who was also an enthusiast of this art medium. Although through early life she was just interested in current films, after her Grandad's death she delved into the classical Hollywood films he loved, with films such as Casablanca (Curtiz, 1942) and Some Like It Hot (Wilder, 1959) becoming instant favourites. From the age of 14 Megan studied film in education and continued this throughout school, then college and then to University, graduating in 2020 with a degree in film. Throughout learning about film through education, Megan learnt and read about a vast array of cinema and discovered some of her favourite films including Vivre Sa Vie (Godard, 1962), A Woman Under the Influence (Cassavetes, 1974), The Florida Project (Baker, 2017) and her all time favourite- Paris, Texas (Wenders, 1984).
Megan is currently a freelance writer and hopes to become part of the filmmaking process someday. |
